Renaissance Woman: McIntosh is proficient and experienced in a variety of disciplines—marketing and branding, event design, web design, and culinary arts. She is an accomplished opera singer and bluegrass musician too. “I’ll never stop learning and growing my abilities.”

Philosophy: “When someone tells me I can’t do something, it motivates me to work even harder.   Tell me it’s impossible and I’ll prove you wrong.   By chance, I discovered an anonymous quote: Do today what others won’t, so tomorrow you can do what others can’t.  It’s become my manifesto.”

Remembering: “…when I won the gold. In the seventh grade I was floundering in school due to a family tragedy.  I remember being assigned a research project and had no clue where to begin.  My aunt took me under her wing and we spent an entire weekend researching, writing and building a creative presentation.  I’ll never forget the applause after my speech and the gold slip I took home to my father.  I was so proud. My aunt taught me the value of and reward for 110% effort.   This changed the course of my life.”

Public Spirit: “I love to mentor young adults and help them develop their own unique talents.  My heart goes out to the arts and I help raise funds for a variety of organizations.   I’ve enjoyed my work for West Bay Opera and my time as their V.P. on the Board of Directors.

Creative Strategist: Murphy takes creative thought and turns it into winning formulas for marketing and promoting companies. “Lea and I are a perfect combination of talents, and we’ve successfully collaborated on several client projects. I am excited that we are going to be working on our own venture centered on new media and the social web.”

Philosophy: “I have a pioneer spirit. I am always looking for ways to innovate or add a new twist…I’m never comfortable doing the same thing over and over. I thrive on new challenges.”

Remembering: “…when I orchestrated the launch of a new Internet music company at The Plant, a historic recording studio in Sausalito, California. This is where notables such as Fleetwood Mac, Carlos Santana, Janice Joplin and the Grateful Dead recorded—you should have seen their graffiti in the bathroom!  The night of the event, the Dave Matthews Band was in the recording studio.   The event was magical, the guests were in awe, and the client was very happy.”

Public Spirit: “When it comes to my social causes, I like to ‘think globally but act locally.’  In terms of donations, it’s the best way to make sure money is going where it’s supposed to.  One of my favorite organizations is the St. Francis Center—they really help those in need.  I love getting involved in community projects.  I am currently working on advocacy for those with Asperger’s syndrome and I am on the board of directors for Peninsula Youth Theatre—I’ve witnessed the positive impact theater has on children’s self-esteem.”

Engineering the Vision: “Kurt is a tech phenom who can turn anything we envision into a viable social web solution,” says Lea McIntosh.  “Kurt develops the cleanest code and is always forward thinking in his design approach.  When we hit developmental roadblocks, he has the uncanny ability to come up with a solution that puts us ahead of our goals and will keep us that way in the future.”
